The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is one of the nation’s leading pediatric facilities, and its four-floor vertical expansion added 250,000 square feet of new patient care space atop the hospital’s existing nine-story structure – bringing its total footprint to over one million square feet. PS was brought on to deliver the exterior glazing envelope for this complex overbuild, installing curtainwall and window systems engineered to meet the demanding performance and sequencing requirements of an active, operational hospital campus. Working closely with Blair + Mui Dowd Architects and Turner Construction, our team coordinated installation around continuous hospital operations, maintaining tight tolerances while supporting a carefully phased construction schedule. The completed facade supports the expanded facility’s mission of delivering comprehensive, state-of-the-art pediatric care to children and families across Tennessee and the region.
